Hi! My name is Lily. Despite the fact that I now major in Japanese, I actually don't know a lot about this language, and i still speak Chinese and English a lot better than Japanese at present. I'm a pretty outgoing girl but also a bit stubborn. I love traveling, though I haven't been to many countries, experiencing a variety of cultures and getting along with people from different places always make me excited. I also love reading, and read almost everything except for science articles. Besides, I often enjoy participating in activities that are exciting and challenging. Being a college freshman, I join the cheerleading club and the Student Association, and I'm really looking forward to my colorful new life here in NCCU! :D

Start living in a dorm

To me, one of the greatest changes between high school and college life is living in a dorm. In spite of the fact that I live in Taipei, I still signed up for a dorm in that it takes me more than an hour to get to school from my house. Fortunately, I did get a room, and I start looking forward to my new life since then.

Speaking of dorm life, the most influential element is the roommates. I was quite excited but also a bit nervous about getting along with my roommates. After all, living with three other people with completely different lifestyle isn’t an easy task. However, I soon found out that all three of my roommates are great people that are all easy-going. We chat and share our life with each other, and sometimes complaints as well. I feel really lucky to have them as my roommates, and I believe we will get along very well.

  1. I live in New Taipei City, but it also takes over an hour to get to the school, so I signed up for a dorm, too. In the first month, I felt more tired than summer vacation, but something very interesting happened, too. The dorm life is totally different from the life lived in home, so I was also a little nervous and expected for it. I heard from my roommates that your department has eight o'clock classes in four days. It is such a tough job! Hope you all pass in the end of the semester.

    1. Yes, you're right about the early-eight-classes. However, my class schedule is even worse; I had earily-eight-classes EVERYDAY!!! I really can't wait to change my class schedule next semester.

  2. I came from Tainan, so I signed up for a dorm. The first day I arriving NCCU, I was very nervous for worrying if I met roommates who don't like me. Fortunately, I found out that all of them are amiable. How lucky I am, haha~~~~~~ One day I got a cold, and it rained heavily. My roommates dumped the garbage for me. I was really touched then! Thanks to their love, I living in NCCU seldom miss Tainan and my family:-D

  3. Lily, here is a comment by Monica Hsu (she couldn't post this comment due to a technical problem):
I am glad to hear that you have great roommates.I still live at home so I don't have the problem making too much noise.I was thinking about moving in the dorm next year, so your post give me a good advice. All of my friends say that I am very noisy person, so I guess if I really want to live in a dorm, I need to learn to be quiet.
